Cari amici,
da poche settimane è terminato il IX Congresso della nostra Associazione che, come sapete, si è tenuto a Venezia. In quell’occasione è stato parzialmente rinnovato il Consiglio Direttivo, formato dai vari Comitati Nazionali e sono state conferite le nuove cariche del Bureau.
Il nuovo Consiglio Direttivo della Società è così composto:

Inoltre durante la prima riunione del Comitato Scientifico sono state valutate le proposte per la sede del prossimo Congresso. Sono state avanzate due candidature: quella di Atene (Grecia), proposta da Platon Petridis, o quella di Mertola/Silves (Portogallo), proposta da Susana Gomez. Pur valutando molto positivamente ambedue la candidature, sia per il prestigio dei luoghi che per la solidità delle istituzioni che se ne sarebbero fatte carico, si è ritenuto di preferire il Portogallo, anche per la maggiore distanza di tempo intercorso con i precedenti Congressi tenuti nei due rispettivi Paesi. Sempre durante la riunione del Consiglio direttivo si è deciso di sviluppare meglio il sito web della Società, anche in considerazione del fatto che un sito web ben funzionante può degnamente sostituire il bollettino cartaceo. Il sito potrebbe contenere non solo informazioni sull’attività dei soci, notizie sugli incontri che riguardano gli studi sulla ceramica, aggiornamenti bibliografici da parte dei Soci, ma anche i testi degli Atti dei Congressi passati non più disponibili (e di cui è possibile ottenere l’autorizzazione, come quelli di Valbonne, ad esempio). Sul sito, in occasione dei Congressi, potrebbero comparire anche i testi dei Poster, come è avvenuto nel caso dell’ultimo incontro veneziano (i testi dei Poster di questo Congresso sono momentaneamente visibili sul sito web: www.arcmed-venezia.it). Mi farebbe inoltre piacere che il sito potesse anche diventare un forum di discussione, di dibattito e di suggerimenti da parte di tutti i Soci. Si è infine deciso che la Società debba in ogni modo promuovere anche incontri di minor impegno organizzativo (come invece lo sono i Congressi), sia per contribuire alla diffusione degli studi sulla ceramica sia per favorire le condizioni di possibili future candidature. Nel congedarmi da voi vorrei ringraziare Charalambos Bakirtzis, Graziella Berti e Guillermo Rosselló Bordoy che hanno fatto parte dei precedenti Consigli Direttivi e che molto hanno dato per il prestigio e la crescita della nostra Società; e contestualmente vorrei dare un caloroso benvenuto ai nuovi arrivati, Alessandra Molinari, Platon Petridis e Alberto Garcia Porras.

ça fait quelques semaines que le 9ème Congrès de notre association a terminé et, qui, comme vous savez, a eu lieu à Venise. À cette occasion le Conseil Directif, composé par les divers Comités Nationaux, a été partiellement renouvelé et on a attribué les nouvelles charges du Bureau.

En outre, pendant la première réunion du Comité Scientifique on a évalué les propositions de siège pour le prochain Congrès. Deux candidatures ont été présentés: celle d’Athènes (Grèce), proposée par Platon Petridis ou celle de Mertola/Silves (Portugal), proposée par Susana Gomez. Bien qu’on ait évalué très positivement les deux candidatures, soit pou le prestige des lieux soit pour la solidité des institutions qui s’en seraient chargées, on a évalué de préférer le Portugal, aussi pour la majeure distance de temps passé depuis les précédentes Congés déroulés dans le deux respectifs Pays. Pendant la réunion du Conseil Directif on a aussi décidé de mieux développer le site Internet de la Société, en considérant qu’un site Internet bien marchant peut bien remplacer le bulletin en papier. Le site Internet pourrait contenir non seulement les informations sur l’activité des Membres, nouvelles sur les rencontres concernant études sur la céramique, mises è jour bibliographiques de la part des Membres, mais aussi les textes des Actes des Congrès passés qui ne sont plus disponibles (et dont il est possible de demander l’autorisation, comme, par exemple, ceux de Valbonne). Sur le site Internet on pourrait aussi publier, à l’occasion des Congrès, les textes des Posters, comme en occasion du dernier rencontre à Venise (les textes des Posters sont temporairement visibles sur le site Internet www.arcmed-venezia.it). J’aimerais aussi que le site Internet puisse devenir un forum de discussion, de débat et de suggestions de la part de tous les Membres. On a enfin décidé que la Société doive en toute façon promouvoir aussi rencontres de meneur occupation logistique (au contraire des Congrès), soit pour contribuer à la diffusion des études sur la céramique soit pour favoriser les conditions des possibles futures candidatures. En prenant congé de vous, je remercie Charalambos Bakirtzis, Graziella Berti et Guillermo Rosselló Bordoy qui ont été part des précédents Conseils Directifs et qui ont donné beaucoup pour le prestige et la croissance de notre Société; au même temps je voudrais donner mon chaleureux bienvenu aux nouveaux arrivés, Alessandra Molinari, Platon Petridis et Alberto Garcia Porras.

as you know, a few weeks ago ended the IX Congress of our Association that took place in Venice. During the congress, we partially renewed the Executive Board, which is composed of National Committees, and we bestowed the new Bureau offices.

Moreover, during the first meeting of the Scientific Committee we evaluated the proposals of the next Congress location. We had two nominations: Athens (Greece) proposed by Platon Petridis, and Mertola/Silves (Portugal) proposed by Susana Gomez. Both the nominations were positively evaluated for the prestige of the location and for the solidity of the institutions that would take charge of the organization. However, we choose Portugal because of the longest period of time elapsed between the previous congresses organized in those two countries. During the meeting we also decided to improve the web site of the Society, considering that a well-organized website could replace the paper bulletin. It could cover with not only information regarding members’ activities, meetings about ceramic studies and bibliographic updates suggested by the members, but also with the previous Conference Proceedings no longer available (when we can obtain the authorization, eg. for the Conference Proceedings of Valbonne). On the occasion of a congress, we could also put on the web site the Posters, as we did in the last Venetian meeting (the Posters text are currently available on the following website: www.arcmed-venezia.it). Moreover, I would also like the web site to become a discussion and suggestion forum for all members. Finally, we decided that the Society should however promote less demanding meetings, both to contribute to the circulation of ceramic studies and to encourage possible future nominations. I would like to thank Charalambos Bakirtzis, Graziella Berti and Guillermo Rossellò Bordoy, who have been part of the previous Executive Boards and engaged themselves in the growth of our Society and of its prestige. At the same time, I would like to warmly welcome the newcomers Alessandra Molinari, Platon Petridis and Alberto Garcia Porras.
